SOE to Host Inauguration Day 2021 Teach-In

SOE has announced an Inauguration Day 2021 Teach-In as an opportunity to engage in critical conversations about the struggles and possibilities of education in a democratic society. As an institution committed to forming change agents—teachers, counselors, school psychologists, leaders—the school invites its community to embrace the educational challenges of this historic event on Wednesday, January 20, from 7-8pm PT.

Dr. Yvette Lapayese, Ph.D., Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Programs, Continuous Improvement, and Student Success, will be the keynote speaker for the event, followed by a panel discussion facilitated by Dr. Will Perez, Ph.D. , Professor and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, School of Education. Panelists include SOE faculty and staff members Dr. Dana Coleman, Program Administrator, Clinical Education Services; Natasha D’Costa, Assistant Director, TFA & Intern Partnerships; Dr. Fernando Estrada, Associate Professor, Co-Director, Counseling; Dr. Manuel Ponce, Clinical Associate Professor & Director, Institute for School Leadership and Administration (ISLA) and Dr. Marta Sanchez, Professor & Director, Bilingual Education Program.
