The LMU School of Education is pleased to announce it will take on a leadership role in planning and hosting Better Together: California Teachers Summit, a one-of-a-kind event where more than 20,000 teachers across the state will gather at 33 locations on July 31 to build powerful networks, share successful classroom practices and access effective resources to implement the California Standards. This summit is a cooperative project of the New Teacher Center, the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) and California State University (CSU). The LMU School of Education is one of the lead partners for the statewide event on behalf of AICCU.
Here in Los Angeles, Loyola Marymount University is hosting the Summit at the Pasadena Convention Center in partnership with co-hosts Antioch University, Brandman University – Antelope Valley, Pepperdine University, and University of Southern California. Join us in Pasadena for this unique event by registering here.
“We’re honored to support this special event – both here in Los Angeles and statewide – designed to empower California’s teachers through networking and collaboration to ensure all students receive a high-quality education experience,” said Shane P. Martin, dean of the School of Education.
The program will feature nationally renowned speakers and give teachers a forum to share cutting-edge strategies and proven best practices led by teachers and for teachers. Teachers will come away with access to innovative teaching practices and tools for use in the classroom. The event will be free of cost to all PreK-12 teachers, teacher candidates and school administrators.
