In collaboration with State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson and the California State Board of Education, the LMU School of Education brought together more than 150 educators from across California to share stories of success in our PreK-12 public and public charter schools. Through keynote lectures, panel discussions and networking opportunities, the Education Success Project Symposium allowed educators to break down existing barriers, promote increased collaboration, and explore how to more effectively use technology and other resources to share the best strategies and practices to ensure all of our students are prepared to live, work and thrive.
The symposium is part of a larger effort called the Education Success Project that is being led by Maureen Kindel, chair of the SOE Board of Visitors and a graduate of the LMU Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice program. The Education Success Project focuses on how communication and collaboration can be improved among a variety of education stakeholders for the benefit of student learning.
