First-year MBA student Aldo Daniel was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Rachelle Katz Endowed MBA Scholarship.
Aldo is an international student from Indonesia and first came to the United States in 2012 to pursue his education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., and worked as an electrical designer at an architectural/engineering firm in Milwaukee.
“I am so grateful and honored to be selected as the 2018 Rachelle Katz MBA Scholar,” said Aldo. “Besides lifting the burden of tuition fees, this scholarship is a catalyst to my education. It means I have a responsibility to do better, and push myself to higher limits because you all have made an investment in me.”
“Aldo was selected for this award based on his strong record of academic achievement and a well-organized career plan for his future,” said Bill Semos, director of the MBA Program. “We are confident that he will excel professionally as an outstanding graduate and representative of LMU.”
Thanks again to all who have given to this very special scholarship fund. This fund not only allows us to honor Dr. Katz in perpetuity and all she did for the LMU MBA Program, but also helps attract high-quality MBA students. As you may know, the money raised is invested in the LMU endowment which distributes approximately 5% of the principal each year to award a deserving scholar like Aldo. Any interest earned over and above 5% is reinvested in the principal and any new gifts to this fund increases the fund’s value and subsequent awards. We hope to continue growing the endowment which will allow us to provide support to more than one student each year.
