Marissa Alvarez will head to a Hawaiian vacation after commencement with a job in hand as a software development analyst at Northrop Grumman. As a Los Angeles native, Alvarez grew up inspired by the cutting-edge technologies of local aerospace companies. She’s been interning with Northrop Grumman since her senior year in high school and working full-time during summers and part-time during the LMU academic years.
“When people say to set a goal and put your mind to it, that’s really true,” she said. “It’s exciting having a job offer.” Alvarez is a first-generation college student, and a recipient of a LMU Latino Alumni Association scholarship to support her studies.
