Loyola Marymount University’s School of Education continues to place among the top-ranked schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 “Best Graduate Schools” rankings.
The School of Education is in the top 17 percent of the 379 graduate schools of education surveyed for this year’s rankings and within the top 5 percent of the 1,500 schools, colleges and departments of education nationwide.
The LMU School of Education is ranked 62nd in the country, and is the third highest ranked Jesuit institution nationally, behind only Boston College and Fordham. In addition, LMU is the third-ranked private, independent school of education in California, behind Stanford and USC. Of the more than 80 education programs in California, LMU is ranked ninth.

Martin, dean on the School of Education. “This is a reflection of our commitment to reimagining educator preparation in a new and profound way that puts all youth at the center of our work.”
Each year, U.S. News ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing. The data for the rankings in all six disciplines come from statistical surveys of more than 1,970 programs and from reputation surveys sent to more than 16,500 academics and professionals, conducted in the fall of 2016 and early 2017.
