In honor of Dr. Rachelle Katz, who was Associate Dean and Director of the LMU MBA Program for almost 20 years, the MBA Alumni Association (MBAAA) Board spearheaded a campaign to create the Rachelle Katz Endowed MBA Scholarship fund, honoring this remarkable woman who touched so many lives. The MBAAA Board set a campaign goal of raising $100,000 by the time Dr. Katz retired in May 2014.
RESULTS
As of June 2014, a total of $120,038 has been raised toward the Rachelle Katz MBA Scholarship fund! The scholarship is now fully endowed and will become a permanent source of financial aid to qualified MBA students every year in perpetuity.
“On behalf of the LMU MBA Alumni Association Board, we thank you for your support of this initiative,” said Michael Alexander, MBAAA Board Chair and Vice President of Sales, Western Region at Strategic Partners Inc. (MBA ’11). “We had over 265 donors, including alumni, faculty, staff and friends.”
Gifts will be invested in LMU’s endowment and the interest earned will be distributed each February toward MBA student scholarships.
“I was so pleased to see the establishment of this scholarship in Dr. Katz’s honor,” said Rick Rosenthal, Senior Portfolio Manager at U.S. Bank (MBA ’07). “I was more than happy to contribute toward the endowment!”
