ProfessoOn March 27, 2018, Dr. E.K. Tan of Stony Brook University successfully delivered a talk, entitled “Queer Detours and Ghostly Matters: Archiving Esther Eng’s Life and Work,” for the Spring 2018 AAAS Speaker Series. In his talk, Dr. Tan focused on the career of the first Chinese-American woman director, Esther Eng, and engaged in a rich and in-depth analysis of Eng’s marginal status as a gendered and ethnic other. The talk, attended by more than 30 faculty, staff and students, was followed by lively discussions and comments.
