Loyola Marymount University is uniquely positioned to be a center of creativity that is needed to help solve the world’s seemingly intractable problems, LMU President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D., said in his convocation address on Oct. 17.
Snyder congratulated LMU faculty, staff, and students for their achievements over the last year, but — in the Ignatian spirit of the magis, which calls on us to “do more” — he urged the community to think more expansively and create the opportunities for creative collaboration that is necessary for success.
“We are creators, and we are inspired by infinite wonder,” Snyder said. “Our world depends on our creativity and imagination. Our imaginations are at their most creative when they are centered, and what centers us is a culture of encounter and the collaborative community it generates.”
