Playtone is a production entity founded in 1998 by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Since that time, Playtone has produced such HBO series as Band of Brothers and Big Love, and feature films My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Polar Express, and Where the Wild Things Are. Playtone also has a full and diverse slate of projects in development. They are offering internship opportunities in two areas.
DEVELOPMENT:
Internship duties include logging and binding scripts, answering phones, organizing, catering, running errands (within walking distance), and general assistance to the development and production staff. They offer candidates the opportunity to read screenplays/books and write coverage as well as pitch movie or television ideas to the development team. Internship candidates should be discreet, personable, dependable, self-reliant, and good listeners.
MUSIC SUPERVISION:
This internship will include music, Internet, record label and publishing research as well as running errands. In addition, interns may be asked to read scripts, organize the CD library, file, burn CDs, and handle song clearance requests and music script breakdowns. This internship requires candidates who possess self-motivation and maturity. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly-organized, reliable and trustworthy, and who can easily work with others.
