Granfalloon is the award-winning production company run by filmmakers and LMU alums Laura Boersma and John Stewart Muller. With a slate of talented motion picture directors, the company delivers unique, inspired, and high quality work for clients across the ever-changing multi-platform production, branding, and entertainment world. They are seeking interns for several different areas.
PRODUCTION INTERN:
This position is for someone who can assist with the prep and production of an independent feature film. The intern will work in the production office closely with the producer and production manager. They will help with budgets, scheduling, presentation packages, paperwork, and learn all about how to properly and legally organize a shoot. The team is small and very friendly and always eager to answer questions.
CAMERA INTERN:
This internship is for someone who can assist the Director of Photography on an independent feature film shoot. The intern will work closely with the camera team, learn about the role of a DP first hand, learn about lenses, and the interaction between the DP, director, gaffer, and key department heads. They will also learn about limitations for shots and lighting for specific locations, framing, talent, scheduling, etc.
PRODUCTION DESIGN INTERN:
This position is for someone who can assist the Production Designer and Art Director on an independent feature film shoot. The intern will work closely with the art department team. They will learn about the role of the art department on set and the roles of the production designer, art director, and props master. They will learn how to work with a pre-dressed environment, clearances, providing options to the director and quick schedules.
LIGHTING & GRIP INTERN:
This internship is for someone who can assist the gaffer on an independent feature film shoot. The intern will work closely with the Lighting and Grip Team, learn about the role of a gaffer first hand, and assist the team with whatever they need. They will learn about the role of the lighting and grip department on set and the hierarchy within the department as well as different types of lighting for various environments and scenes. The intern will gain first-hand experience in rigging and learn how to work with location, time, and sometimes budget limitations.
WARDROBE INTERN:
This position is for someone who can assist the Costume Designer on an independent feature film shoot. The intern will work closely with the Wardrobe Department, learn about the role of a costumer and stylist, and assist the wardrobe team with whatever they need. They will learn about prep, the creative collaborative process between the designer and director,fittings for talent, providing options, color, and patterns to create something artistic that compliments the story and visual style of the film.
EDITORIAL INTERN:
This internship is for someone who can assist the editor on an independent feature film shoot. The intern will work closely with the editor, director and post-production supervisor. They will learn about post-production workflow, the role of an editor first hand, and assist the editor with whatever he needs. The intern will learn about proper footage handling from set, dailies, logging and capturing footage, post production supervision, the collaborative process between the editor and director, creation of reels, and prepping edits for color correct and audio mixes. A basic understanding and willingness to learn editing and post-production is key.
