In the nearly two decades since the LMU EMBA Program has been in existence, the latest class represents one of the most diverse cohorts on record.
With 22 students, the class is comprised of 11 women and 11 men. The EMBA program continues to see an increase in the percentage of women who enroll in the program each year, resulting in a more optimal gender balance.
Ages range from 26 to 47 years old with students hailing from 10 countries, including Armenia, Cameroon, Ethiopia, India, Lithuania, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
The ethnic makeup is a mix of Caucasian, African American, Asian, Hispanic and Middle Eastern.
“Diversity is an advantage in any environment,” said Rob Villanueva, EMBA recruiting and admissions manager. “Our diverse cohort is a testament to how LMU attracts students from all backgrounds. We are especially pleased to see an increase in the number of women and minorities in our program, two groups which are still largely underrepresented in leadership positions.”
Industry experience is also diverse with students representing finance, entertainment, apparel, food/beverage, airlines, information technology, non-profit, aerospace, communications, electronics, telecom, education, retail and energy.
Professional roles include operations, marketing, human resources, sales, engineering, entrepreneurship, accounting and quality control.
The LMU EMBA program encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply. The wide range of ethnicities and industries represented in this year’s cohort shows just how applicable the EMBA is to diverse environments.
