Second-year EMBA student Nancy Rink was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Bill Lindsey Endowed Scholarship.
Nancy is the director of operations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is responsible for the business administration, accounting and office operations for the California Southland Chapter of Los Angeles. She works directly with the executive director and campaign directors to ensure they are on target to hit revenue goals and stay within budget for each campaign.
Nancy previously served as operations manager for the Moving Picture Company. In addition, she has held other positions at The Bar Method, MAPP Alternative Asset Management Company, Robert Half, Capital IQ, Countrywide/ Bank of America and Deloitte. Nancy graduated cum laude with a B.S. in accounting and B.B.A. in business administration from Loyola Marymount University.
“I am very honored and grateful to receive the Bill Lindsey Endowed Scholarship and feel privileged to be a part of the prestigious Executive MBA Program at Loyola Marymount University,” said Nancy. “The program that Bill established has helped me grow as a thoughtful professional and innovative leader who can make a positive impact on my organization and community. I would like to thank the EMBA staff and my EMBA classmates who have helped contribute to my individual and professional development, as well as my husband and parents for their continued support.”
Thanks again to all who gave to this very special scholarship fund. This fund not only allows us to honor Dr. Lindsey in perpetuity and all he did for the LMU EMBA Program (currently ranked #22 by U.S. News & World Report), but also helps attract highly-qualified MBA students. As you may know, the money raised is invested in the LMU endowment which distributes approximately 5% of the principal each year to award a deserving scholar like Nancy. Any interest earned over and above 5% is reinvested in the principal and any new gifts to this fund increases the fund’s value and subsequent awards. With your support, we hope to continue growing the endowment which will allow us to provide support to more than one student each year.
