The signs are on the court. Last season, we witnessed a momentous victory over No. 6 Gonzaga in Spokane, Washington; a thrilling second-half comeback against No. 15 Saint Mary’s; signature wins against Georgetown, Wake Forest, Nevada, and Grand Canyon; and a crowd-propelled home victory against Pepperdine. Add the transfer-window additions to the roster and all indications point to a thrilling 2023-24 men’s basketball season.
Now the signs are outside, too, broadcasting a new drive to excellence for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. A comprehensive effort to boost fan engagement and “Ignite Lion Pride” begins this week, leading into Madness on Oct. 26 and building to the season tipoff and beyond.
Hank’s House – where legends are made – is putting out the welcome mat, with new banners and fan experiences to complement recent Gersten Pavilion venue enhancements. Additionally, “Ignite Lion Pride” will be front and center for the 2023-24 season, a component of the university’s comprehensive “Ignite a Brighter World” campaign, which began earlier this fall and focuses on student and faculty achievement and outcomes.
The excitement for Coach Stan Johnson’s fourth season will see a concerted effort to garner school spirit in support of our premier athletic team. Together with the expanded television appearances, including 19 games on ESPN+ and five on network channels, Lions fans will enjoy greater opportunities to get to know the players, share their victories, and take pride in their accomplishments.
