Loyola Marymount University ranks among the nation’s top 10 Catholic schools and as 6th among California’s private colleges and universities in the latest edition of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges. The 2025-26 guide, released today, places LMU on 10 “Top 30” lists, highlighting the university’s strong commitment to service, quality undergraduate instruction, and stellar science and business programs.
LMU landed at No. 24 on the list of best schools nationwide for service learning, and climbed four spots, to No. 27, for best undergraduate teaching, a ranking that speaks to LMU’s high quality of undergraduate instruction. The university once again earned exceptional grades for its undergraduate engineering and business programs, clinching top 25 ranks on six specialty lists.
LMU Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering’s undergraduate engineering program is 21st in the nation – climbing two spots from last year. LMU College of Business Administration secured a top 10 rank for its international business program and four top 25 ranks: entrepreneurship, No. 15; management, No. 23; analytics, No. 24; and marketing, No. 25. Also earning high scores are finance, No. 29, and accounting, No. 30.
U.S. News and World Report’s latest guide lists LMU as No. 102 among the nation’s top colleges, positions the university in the top 60 private colleges and universities in the nation, and tied for 6th among the country’s Jesuit institutions. The publication evaluates more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success.
The new U.S. News and World Report listings bring more good news to LMU this rankings season. In the recently released Princeton Review Best Colleges rankings, LMU earned the No. 17 spot for “Best Library,” No. 17 for “Most Engaged in Community Service,” and No. 23 for “Most Beautiful Campus.” The Hollywood Reporter last month ranked LMU School of Film and Television 5th among the country’s top film schools for the second consecutive year.
