LMU School of Film and Television (SFTV) was ranked 8th in the nation by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) in its annual listing of top film schools. This is the ninth year in a row LMU SFTV has claimed a coveted spot in the top ten.
As SFTV welcomes students back to campus this fall, there will be more SFTV for students to get back to. The opening of the Howard B. Fitzpatrick Pavilion (pictured above) will include spaces for all disciplines, with new areas specifically designed for screenwriting, AR/VR, and more. Eventually, it will also house an SFTV-specific Student Success Center, which will serve some 700 students annually with academic advisement, mentorship opportunities, career development, creative support services, and special programs.
This fall SFTV also welcomes immersive designer Ana Carolina Estarita-Guerrero, the Cosgrove Family Distinguished Visiting Artist in the Animation Department, who will create two exhibitions and incorporating new technologies into the curriculum. Classes will also begin for the new joint minor in Interactive, Gaming, and Immersive Media in collaboration with the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering.
