LMU’s School of Education has been ranked 58th in the nation in the current U.S. News & World Report rankings. It continues to rank among U.S. News’ “Best of Graduate Schools” as the third-highest Jesuit school of education in the country, and third-highest among private schools in California. In addition, LMU School of Education is in the top 15 percent of the 392 graduate schools of education surveyed for the 2021 rankings, and within the top 5 percent of the 1,500 schools, colleges, and departments of education nationwide.
LMU School of Education’s Interim Dean, Mary K. McCullough, Phd, said: “This year’s U.S. News rankings underscore LMU School of Education’s dedication to providing students with an outstanding education that bridges current data-driven research with real-world and inclusive practices. Our students, alumni, faculty and staff continue to serve as transformational leaders in schools and communities throughout California, nationally and around the world.
“These rankings, in addition to our recent success in receiving national and state accreditation, recognize the important work we do. I thank our School of Education community and partners for helping us to earn the national commendations we continually receive. Our national recognition also reflects the quality of our doctoral program, which contributed to Carnegie’s recent reclassification of LMU to Research 2 (R2) status. LMU School of Education continues to be dedicated to our mission of educating the whole person and commitment to social justice.”
