“Laugh,” the comedic play by LMU Professor Beth Henley that tells a story of mishaps and romance, opens Friday, Feb. 16, at Loyola Marymount University. Directed by Dana Resnick, clinical assistant professor of theatre arts, the show runs from Feb. 16-18 and Feb. 21-24 in the Strub Theatre. All performances start at 8 p.m.
“Laugh” is presented by the Department of Theatre Arts in LMU’s College of Communication and Fine Arts.
A fantastic journey from Helena, Montana, to Hollywood, and of what unfolds at both places, frames the play from Henley, a Pulitzer Prize winner and president’s professor of theatre arts at LMU.
Henley creates vignettes that bring together the gold rush, pies, piers, vaudeville, 1920s Hollywood, celebrity life, and a journey to life and love in this 90-minute performance that is accompanied by live music and performed by student artists.
The Strub Theatre is in the Foley Building at LMU, 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, 90045. Tickets cost $15 for general admission and $10 for LMU faculty and staff members and students.
