LOS ANGELES, April 3, 2014 – Christopher Kaczor, professor of philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, has been named the William E. Simon Visiting Fellow with the Department of Politics at Princeton University for the 2014-15 academic year.
The fellowship is sponsored by the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions.
“I am so excited and grateful to have this opportunity to explore the question of human equality,” said Kaczor. “I will be working on a book defending the proposition found in the Declaration of Independence that all people are created equal, endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights. My time in Princeton promises to be fruitful both academically and socially.”
Kaczor is the author of 11 books, including “The Ethics of Abortion: Women’s Rights, Human Life, and the Question of Justice,” “Thomas Aquinas on Faith, Hope, & Love – Edited and Explained for Everyone,” and co-author of “The Seven Big Myths about Marriage: Wisdom from Faith, Philosophy, and Science about Happiness and Love,” with his wife, writer Jennifer Kaczor.
Kaczor earned a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and did post-doctoral work at the University of Cologne, Germany, as a Federal Chancellor Fellow and returned as a Fulbright Scholar. His main areas of research are ethics, philosophy and religion.
