Loyola Marymount University has been selected as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes four-year colleges and universities for creating dynamic pathways to support community college transfer students.
LMU is one of 65 institutions nationwide chosen for the recognition this year by the international honor society for two-year colleges.
“Being named to this list is a testament to the efforts LMU has made to welcome and support transfer students,” said Maureen P. Weatherall, vice provost for Enrollment Management at LMU. “We’re proud to be recognized and excited by the commitment and passion that transfer students bring to our university.”
Winners were selected based engagement, collaboration, impact and achievements related to the transfer of community college students as well as partnerships, support, admissions outreach, scholarships/financial aid, student engagement opportunities and institutional priorities.
“Increasingly, students of all ages and achievement levels are choosing the community college, not only as their first step, but also their first choice, in the pursuit of a quality, affordable bachelor’s degree,” said Lynn Tincher-Ladner, CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “With this designation, we hope to connect community college students with institutions who value their unique transfer experience and prioritize their success.”
