Dr. Antonia Darder, Leavey Presidential Chair of Ethics and Moral Leadership in LMU’s School of Education and Dr. Luis Ricardo Fraga, Arthur Foundation Endowed Professor of Transformative Latino Leadership in the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame, co-edited a special issue on Latinos, education, and the Church for the Journal of Catholic Education. The special issue includes an article by Dr. Darder as well as contributions from Dr. Ursula Aldana, LMU/TFA Los Angeles Partnership alumna, Dr. Cori Marasco, SOE doctoral program alumna, and Kortney Hernandez, SOE doctoral candidate. Articles featured in this special issue aim to document the experiences of Latino students and educators in Catholic education, and to spark discussion and consensus-building related to promoting greater access and completion by Latinos in institutions of Catholic education across the country. This is the first special issue published by the Journal. Loyola Marymount University became the Journal’s host in 2013. LMU faculty members Mary K. McCullough and Karie Huchting, along with Boston College faculty member Martin Scanlan, edit the Journal.
