LMU School of Education faculty and alumni contributed articles and book reviews to the spring 2014 issue of the Journal of Catholic Education. This is the second issue published by Loyola Marymount University since LMU became the host of the journal in 2013, following a successful five-year run at Boston College. A common theme among the articles in this issue is the intersection of educators’ Catholic identities with their understanding of the goals, purposes and practices of education.
With the publication of the spring 2014 issue, the title of the journal changed from Catholic Education: A Journal of Inquiry and Practice to the Journal of Catholic Education. The new title is part of continued efforts led by the journal’s governing and editorial boards to ensure the journal’s relevance, both within Catholic education and academic publishing.
