For the ninth consecutive year, Loyola Marymount University has been named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes four-year colleges and universities for creating dynamic pathways to support transfer students.
“We are honored to yet again be recognized at the national level by PTK for the ninth year in a row,” said Gicel Martell de Zardeneta, director of transfer admission and enrollment services at LMU. “The continued growth of the transfer presence on our campus and this achievement are a testament to the unwavering support LMU provides to its transfer students.”
LMU is one of 228 colleges and universities across the country to receive the honor in 2024. Applicants are evaluated in the areas of scholarship and financial aid, admissions outreach, student support services, and bachelor’s degree completion for students who transfer to LMU.
“The goal of most students attending community college is earning a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexity of the transfer process,” says Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders.
