The Loyola Marymount University choruses will present their gala Christmas concerts on Thursday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Sacred Heart Chapel on LMU’s Westchester campus.
The concerts will feature the Consort Singers, Women’s Chamber Ensemble and Concert Choir performing seasonal favorites as well as John Rutter’s “Gloria.” Two world premieres will also be featured: Paul Gibson’s “Sleep Holy Babe,” and LMU alumna Amy Gordon’s “Light in the Darkness,” a work commissioned for the LMU choruses and dedicated to longtime Director of Choral Activities Mary Breden.
Breden, who is retiring in 2019, will conduct the two performances for the last time. The concerts – an LMU holiday tradition for more than 50 years – are presented by the Department of Music in the College of Communication and Fine Arts.
Both performances start at 8 p.m. at 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, 90045. To purchase tickets in advance, visit cfa.lmu.edu/tickets or call 310-338-5466.
