Loyola Marymount University will offer two free concerts with music, dance and storytelling for children on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, on the Westchester campus.
The concerts will feature music by Beethoven, Poulenc, Duarte and faculty composer Ryan Dorin, performed by the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Co. in collaboration with music faculty members and students.
Children will be treated to the poetry of Spike Milligan in “Hark, Hark, the Ark,” set for voice and guitar, and a full staging of the beloved children’s tale, “Babar the Elephant.”
The performances, which are designed for children ages 3-12, are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in LMU’s Murphy Recital Hall. Seating is first come, first served. LMU is at 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, 90045.
The event is sponsored by the LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts’ Department of Music and funded by the Sinatra Opera Endowment.
