Loyola Marymount University is one of the country’s best schools for undergraduate education, according to the 2011 edition of the Princeton Review annual college guide, “The Best 373 Colleges.” LMU was also listed in the publication’s “2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region.”Based primarily on campus surveys completed by college students around the country, LMU came in 18th nationally for “Most Accessible Professors.” Students gave LMU’s “quality of life” high marks, 94 points out of a possible 99, and particularly noted LMU’s great computer facilities and athletics facilities. Students described the campus as having happy and friendly students who loved being in Los Angeles.
“We are very gratified that LMU is once again recognized as one of the ‘best colleges’ in the U.S.,” said Joseph Hellige, senior vice president and chief academic officer, “and particularly proud of the fact that our students evaluate us so highly in faculty accessibility. Our small class size enables us to know students individually and our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential.” The “Best 373 Colleges” is Princeton Review’s flagship college guide and features only the top 15 percent of U.S. and Canadian colleges. Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s senior vice president / publishing and author of “The Best 373 Colleges” said, “We commend Loyola Marymount University for its outstanding academics, which is the primary criteria for our selection of schools for the book. Our choices are based on institutional data we collect about schools, our visits to schools over the years, feedback we gather from students attending the schools, and the opinions of our staff and our 28-member National College Counselor Advisory Board.” |
