Loyola Marymount University again ranked in the upper echelon of American institutions of higher education, this time landing a high spot on the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Ranking 2018.
The list, released Tuesday afternoon, ranks four-year colleges and universities on a combination of factors, such as graduation rates, student-faculty ratios, academic reputation, student engagement, and other information. LMU came in at 128 out of 1,054 institutions listed, and nearly 3,000 four-year colleges in the United States.

These rankings affirm that LMU’s renowned faculty, diverse student body and innovative programs exemplify academic and creative excellence.”
This ranking is LMU’s latest appearance on “top colleges” lists nationwide. LMU was also just ranked No. 3 among the best regional universities in the West, according to the 2018 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of American colleges and universities.
These rankings followed new lists from USA Today and College Factual, a college choice resource that evaluates more than 1,300 four-year U.S. colleges and universities. On that list, LMU ranked in the top 10 percent for overall quality and third for drama and theatre arts; seventh for film, video and photographic arts; sixth-most popular for entrepreneurial studies; and 10th most focused for marketing.
In March, LMU secured top spots in U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of graduate programs, with the College of Business Administration placing 12th for its graduate entrepreneurship specialty; 15th for marketing; 16th for its graduate accounting program; and 22nd for its Executive MBA program. LMU’s School of Education ranked 62nd nationwide, and Loyola Law School held onto its high rank in the category of best law schools, coming in at No. 65 nationwide.
