Loyola Marymount University has once again found itself among the top schools in college ranking lists, most recently those released by the Princeton Review and the Sierra Club.
In the Princeton Review’s annual Best Colleges book, LMU was listed among the top 20 in three categories: Best Library, Happiest Students, and “Their Students Love These Colleges.” The rankings are based on surveys of more than 100,000 students nationwide.
“Each of our 377 best colleges offers outstanding academics,” said Robert Franek, the book’s author and Princeton Review publisher. “Our goal is not to crown one college ‘best’ overall, but to help applicants find and get in to the college best for them.”
“The Best 377 Colleges: 2013 Edition” is the Princeton Review’s flagship college guide and features only the top 15 percent of U.S. and Canadian colleges.
Additionally, the Sierra Club placed LMU at 26 in its annual Cool Schools, a list of environmentally sound universities. Last year, LMU ranked 95 in the Sierra Club’s list.
The ranking is based on a combination of factors, including sustainable purchasing practices, commitment to renewable energy, and offering sustainability-related courses.
