A cornerstone of LMU’s Master in Entertainment Leadership and Management (MELM) program is its capstone project, which challenges students to translate classroom theory into impactful, real-world solutions. Working independently or in small teams, students pursue one of two dynamic tracks: launching original content or ventures as entrepreneurial producers or partnering with industry organizations to solve strategic challenges.
“The class of 2025’s capstone projects reflect the program’s emphasis on innovation, strategic thinking, and industry relevance,” said Rosanne Korenberg, J.D., academic program co-director for MELM and clinical assistant professor of Film and Television Production. “We’re incredibly proud of the work our MELM students have accomplished. Their creativity, professionalism, and drive are truly remarkable.”
Korenberg’s praise is evident in the range and depth of this year’s projects.
Miguel Baeza and Charles Caestecker collaborated with The Fithian Group to support the beta launch of Attend, a new platform designed to connect filmmakers directly with exhibitors, expand theatrical access for independent films, and help creatives navigate the rapidly transforming distribution landscape in the digital age. Their work included preparing and marketing a slate of films for a November 2025 release, helping to create more opportunities for lower-budget films to reach audiences in theaters and empowering filmmakers and exhibitors with greater flexibility and independence.
Exploring another facet of the industry, Angel Cesar Castellanos and Genaro Navarro-Rodriguez developed the platform ReellyReady, which equips filmmakers with tools to evaluate and strengthen their projects. With personalized feedback, pitch-building resources, and industry-aligned benchmarks, the platform helps turn promising ideas into launch-ready productions. It also fosters a collaborative environment where creators can connect based on the strength of their work, with the potential to partner for future endeavors.
In the music space, Malik Aziz, Jenna Black, and Rebekah Hurst partnered with Legacy Music Group to craft a strategic marketing plan for gospel artist William Demps. Known for blending traditional gospel with contemporary R&B, Demps’ evolving sound inspired a campaign that includes a revitalized visual identity, a targeted social media strategy, and an intricate live event proposal—designed to amplify his inspirational message and broaden his audience.
Engaging with the next generation of creative consumers, Alexsiya Flora and Laura Tornga focused on an imagination tool for children aimed at sparking creativity in young minds. By blending creativity and entertainment, their project aims to provide a fun, easy-to-use tool for young users.
Together, these capstone projects represent more than academic achievement—they showcase a bold, forward-thinking approach to leadership in entertainment.
“By tackling real-world challenges with creativity, strategy, and collaboration, MELM students are not only preparing for the industry, but are already making their mark on it,” said Rochelle Webb, MBA, academic program co-director for MELM and clinical assistant professor of entrepreneurship and marketing.
As the entertainment landscape continues to evolve, these emerging leaders are poised to shape its next chapter. If you’re ready to turn your passion for entertainment into meaningful impact, explore how this program can help you lead the next wave of innovation at lmu.edu/melm.
