The massive hack of the credit reporting company Equifax is just the latest security breach resulting in the widespread release of consumers’ personal information.
As attacks like these routinely make headlines, a panel of business executives, cyber security experts and government officials will gather at Loyola Marymount University on Saturday, Oct. 7, to discuss current and emerging threats in cyberspace and the technological advancements being made to countermeasure and manage these risks.
The Fourth Annual L.A. Cyber Security Summit comes during National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The speakers are: Mehrdad Sharbaf, an adjunct professor in LMU’s College of Business Administration and computer society chairman of the Institute of Electrical Engineers’ Coastal Los Angeles Section; Keith Tresh, commander of the California Cybersecurity Integration Center in the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services; Mark Weatherford, senior vice president and chief cybersecurity strategist at vArmour; Reuben Wilson, director of law and policy in Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Office of Public Safety; David Rusting, chief information security officer for the University of California; and William Perry, systemwide chief information security officer for California State University.
