Roubado, a film by SFTV instructor Erica Watson, is a coming of age tale that follows an Afro-Portugese teen who finds solace in photography while trying to cope with his mother’s new relationship. The short film was an official selection of the NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Festival July 2015. In a the following video interview, Watson explains how the film was born out of a screenwriting class and grew from there: “I thought it would be interesting to try to chronicle an exact moment of change in a person’s life, when their eyes are opened to the world.”
