Mardi Norman, MBA ’02 is an inspirational entrepreneur and businesswoman whose impact has been felt in the corporate world and in the community. Mardi is president and CEO of Dynamic Systems, Inc., an information technology services and systems provider based in El Segundo. She joined Dynamic Systems, Inc. in 1992 as one of the company’s three original employees. Under her leadership, the company has grown to 75 employees across six offices and remains focused on helping customers understand how technology can solve their business problems.
Mardi is also focused on empowering people of all ages to achieve their personal and professional goals. Inspired by her two daughters, Mardi founded The LOFT Academy, a non-profit organization dedicated to igniting a passion for education in children through project-based learning, driving questions and self-direction. Her efforts have modernized education by emphasizing customization, instead of standardization, and helping children realize their limitless potential for learning.
Mardi discovered a passion for project-based learning while a student in the LMU Executive MBA program. Project-based learning is a student-centered pedagogy that involves a learn-by-doing approach resulting in deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. Mardi is forever grateful to the LMU Executive MBA program for a high-quality educational experience that allowed her to blossom into a more confident leader and flex her entrepreneurial instincts. Today, three graduates of the LMU Executive MBA program hold senior leadership positions at Dynamic Systems, Inc.
With over 20 years of experience in the information technology space, Mardi’s achievements stretch far and wide. Dynamic Systems, Inc. was recently listed as one of the top 10 women-owned businesses by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The company has also been featured on the “Inc. 5000” annual list of fastest-growing private companies in America (8 times!) as well as Business Intelligence’s “Best Places to Work” (2016 winner and 2019 finalist). In 2019, Mardi was inducted into LMU’s Wall of Honor for her significant contributions to the field of entrepreneurship. In 2015, she was named one of the “The Top 50 Women Entrepreneurs in America” by Inc. magazine.
With her success as a business leader and passion for education, Mardi truly embodies the CBA mission of using business as a force for good. She is living a life of purpose and committed to making the world a better place. She has certainly made LMU proud!
