
Elizabeth C. Reilly, Professor of Educational Leadership in the School of Education, has been awarded the 2016 Leadership for Social Justice Bridge People Award from the American Educational Research Association. This award recognizes Reilly for her commitment toward inclusion and community within her work and for creating a bridge between herself and others through scholarship and research.
Reilly has been a faculty member at LMU since 2008 where she is committed to preparing the next generation of educational leaders in K-12 and higher education, in addition to researching and presenting on organizational culture and change and women in leadership roles. Reilly is an international scholar having worked with numerous government leaders and educational organizations across the world. Currently, Reilly serves as the elected Secretary-Treasurer of AERA’s International Studies Special Interest Group and the Co-Chair for the Substantive Change Committee for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Reilly is the author of numerous books and articles on educational leadership, including her most recent book, Women Leading Education Across the Continents: Overcoming the Barriers, with Quirin J. Bauer.
In addition to being honored with the Leadership for Social Justice Bridge People Award, Reilly has been elected to serve as Program Chair of the International Studies Special Interest Group on behalf of AERA where she will focus on furthering AERA’s commitment to improving education research. This appointment will be a three-year term beginning in 2016.
