Assistant Professor William McCormack comes to Loyola Marymount University following 25-years as an Aerospace Physiologist in the United States Navy. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the United States Naval Academy and his M.A. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Georgia. He received his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Central Florida where he conducted several research projects examining dietary supplements in older adults and endurance-trained individuals. In addition, he has experience conducting research utilizing electromyography (EMG) to measure muscle activation and efficiency during cycling and running activities. At LMU he has a current research project examining the EMG efficiency of thigh muscles and their relationship to aerobic fitness in endurance-trained adults. He is currently teaching Kinesiology and Biomechanics Lab classes. He is a competitive distance runner and enjoys getting out and enjoying all that Southern California has to offer.
