Derek Pugh

Derek Pugh has been the Laboratory Support Associate the past three years.  He came to LMU from Texas where he completed a Masters in Integrative Biology from The University Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.  Additionally, Derek has a Masters in Health, Exercise, and Sports Sciences (Exercise Physiology Concentration) from Texas Tech University.  Derek is our resident expert in CPR and First Aid, teaching courses for the Department and throughout the University.  He is also certified as an X-Ray Technician – LP Bone Densitometry, and runs the Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) machine.  He is responsible for all the laboratory equipment within the department and plays a vital role in our budgetary process. Derek has been a key member of the team preparing for our move into the new Life Sciences Building and is looking forward to having our labs right down the hallway from each other.
