A Sister of Charity of Nazareth, Sr. Shaughnessy holds a Ph.D. in educational administration and supervision from Boston College, a juris doctorate and master’s degree in English from the University of Louisville and a master’s degree in educational administration from Spalding University. Following her presentation, Sr. Shaughnessy joined Kevin Baxter, superintendent for elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, for a panel question and answer discussion. Also on the panel were two students in LMU’s Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership for Social Justice – Mary Beth Boyer, a teacher at Serra Catholic School in the Diocese of Orange, and Anna Marie Silva, assistant superintendent for elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Moderated by Jill Bickett, associate director of the doctoral program, the panelists expanded further on many of the discussed topics while fielding questions from several of the educators in attendance.
