The FeFF was established in 2001 as a non-profit organization. The FeFF presents films directed by international women filmmakers from around the globe.
The Female Eye is a competitive festival and awards are presented for Best Films and Best Screenplays annually. Film awards include Best of Show, Best Debut Feature, Best Canadian Feature, Best Foreign Feature, Best Documentary, Best Short, Best Animation and Best Experimental. An HONOURARY DIRECTOR AWARD and BEST IN THE BIZ TRIBUTE recognizes one internationally recognized director annually along with the HONOURARY MAVERICK AWARD AND BEST IN THE BIZ TRIBUTE. ALL films submitted for competition qualify for Best of Show, Best Film and at the discretion of the jury films can qualify in more than one award category e.g. Best Short Film & Best Debut Director or Best Experimental Documentary, Best of Show…
FeFF awards are hand welded, engraved, one-of-a-kind statues created by Willie Anicic and top film awards augmented with in kind production service grants between $2500-$3500
For two consecutive years (2013 – 2014) the Female Eye Film Festival was voted “top 50 film festivals in the world worthy the entry fee” by the renowned independent Movie Maker magazine
The Female Eye Film Festival will take place June 16-21, 2015.
