SOE is moving forward as LMU enters the final months of its Capital Campaign. Two recent major gifts supporting high impact programs in our region are profiled below.
LMU’s Center for Catholic Education received $250,000 over two years from the Weingart Foundation. This grant will allow LMU faculty to create a replicable model for school improvement, success and sustainability that can benefit both Catholic and secular education.
A collaboration between two complementary initiatives of the School of Education, the LMU Family of Schools and Center for Math and Science Teaching, earned a grant of $75,000 from the California Community Foundation to improve mathematics instruction at the elementary school level. This collaboration will provide high quality professional development for FOS elementary teachers in mathematics instruction in order to increase teacher effectiveness in math and inspire and motivate students to achieve in this important subject area.
