Award-Winning poet Yu Xinqiao and contemporary artist Han Dai-Yun were featured in an art exhibition and poem reading, “A Cry for Change,” hosted by the Modern Languages and Literatures Department. The event took place on April 22, 2016.
Yu Xinqiao
Born in Fujian and raised in Zhejiang, Yu Xinqiao is one of the most popular and important poets in China today. Yu Xinqiao is a leader in the political fight for freedom. His poems have served as his media for criticism of government policies and political injustices.
Han Dai-Yu
LMU Professor Han Dai-Yu is an internationally acclaimed artist. Combining Western and traditional Chinese art and culture, he developed and instituted a Chinese Comprehensive Art program for the China Academy of Art.
