Dear Finance Division Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Aida Shadfan, MBA, will join LMU as our new vice president for Finance and controller, effective Monday, Oct. 17. Aida will report directly to me and will be part of my senior leadership team.
Aida will have university-wide responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and maintenance of the university’s financial records. She will provide leadership to and direct, coordinate, and oversee LMU’s various financial reporting and accounting obligations, including establishing university financial policies and standards; directing and overseeing the operations of student financial services; general accounting; post-award accounting; accounts payable; central finance services; and finance systems management.
She comes to LMU from the J. Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla, California, a world leader in genomic research, where she was vice president of finance. At JCVI, Aida was responsible for leading the finance, accounting, audit, and finance operations support functions. Before that she was director of accounting and finance for San Diego State University’s global campus, and for 10 years was controller for San Diego Center for Children.
Aida earned her MBA at California State University, San Marcos, and her B.S. degree in accounting at California State University, Sacramento.
I am confident that Aida’s experience and integrity will greatly benefit the university.
Please join me in welcoming Aida to LMU.
