Are you interested in leading your residence hall, classroom, or office in the group’s emergency preparedness?
LMU Emergency Management is now accepting volunteers for its Emergency Response Team – students, staff, and faculty are all welcome. ERT members must attend a one-time training and a yearly refresher course, in which they will gain expertise in emergency procedures for fire and evacuation, earthquakes, power outages, and active-shooter threats. There will also be the opportunity for specialized training on fire extinguisher usage, “stop the bleed” first aid, and assisting in full-scale preparedness exercises.
Time commitment varies per month, and members will have the opportunity to support their area’s respective preparedness efforts by guiding emergency drills and supporting monthly preparedness campaigns (fire safety, earthquake preparedness, etc.).
Interested volunteers should sign up here, and will be contacted by a member of LMU Emergency Management for further details. If you have previously participated in the LMU ERT program, please still complete the volunteer form to be added to the email list.
Questions may be directed to Jessica Castañon, director of Emergency Management, at jessica.castanon@lmu.edu or 310.338.3954.
