Meeting Christ in Prayer Spiritual Program
The Center for Ignatian Spirituality also invites faculty and staff to consider participating in Meeting Christ in Prayer, a favorite program for prayer and weekly spiritual conversation with fellow peers.
Meeting Christ in Prayer is an eight-week daily meditation and contemplation program by Father John Sassani and Mary Ann McLaughlin, based upon the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
LMU faculty and staff members commit to 25-30 minutes daily to do the assigned scripture meditation and write in their journals their reflections about the experience of prayer; participants meet weekly in small groups for spiritual conversation via Zoom.
The retreat guide is in English; however, translations of the assigned scripture passages are available in Spanish, French, and Tagalog. Spiritual conversation groups may be formed by language preference: English, Spanish, bi-lingual English and Spanish, Tagalog, etc.
An orientation session for all participants will be held March 7-11, 2022, and will be convened by the small group leader at a time to be determined. The first daily exercise will take place on the agreed-upon day and time for each group.

The Season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, March 2, and ends just before Easter, April 14.
