Loyola Marymount University is once again a proud sponsor the 25th annual LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce Fourth of July Parade, a beloved community tradition that brings together neighbors, families, and local organizations in a festive celebration of American independence and Los Angeles pride.
This year’s parade theme, “We Love L.A.,” highlights all the things that make our city shine — from world-class music and iconic landmarks to sun-soaked beaches, thrilling sports, and diverse, vibrant neighborhoods.
The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on the corner of Manchester Avenue and Loyola Boulevard, and travels south, concluding at 80th Street and Loyola Boulevard. Attendees can look forward to a showcase of marching bands, local businesses, and community groups that reflect the spirit and character of Westchester and Playa del Rey.
LMU’s float, themed “Brighten Your Summer,” will spotlight the many free events the university offers to the public throughout the summer. These include Shakespeare on the Bluff, Summer Movie Nights, and Recycling and Composting classes — all designed to engage, entertain, and educate the broader community.
Joining the LMU float in the parade will be members of the LMU women’s and men’s basketball teams, the LMU cheer squad, and representatives from KXLU 88.9 FM, the university’s student-run radio station.
