In alignment with Ready.gov’s national Earthquake Preparedness Month, LMU Emergency Management is holding QuakeFest, the university’s ninth annual emergency preparedness fair, the first since 2019. QuakeFest gives Lions the chance to meet first responders and stock up on emergency supplies, ahead of the worldwide Great ShakeOut drill the following day.

Thursday, Oct. 20: Great ShakeOut
At 10:20 a.m. and 6:50 p.m., LMU will participate in the USGS Great ShakeOut earthquake drill, along with 15 million people worldwide. Once you hear the public announcement on the campus speaker system, be sure to DROP, COVER, and HOLD wherever you are on campus, as if it were a real earthquake.
