
LMU’s first official student T-shirt design contest is now open for entries. The winning designer will receive $500 in bookstore credit, and their design will be sold at the LMU Bookstore.
The contest seeks to bring LMU’s Ignite a Brighter World campaign to life through student voices and promote student creativity in LMU’s campus merchandise strategy.
Submit your design here by Monday, Jan. 22 at 11:59 p.m. Full instructions and selection criteria are below.
Design Assignment
Designs must adhere to these parameters to be considered:
- Represent the idea that LMU or its students are igniting a brighter world.
- Include the words “Ignite a Brighter World” in the design.
- Plan for a design that will render as a white screen print on the back of a dark gray T-shirt; an LMU spirit mark will appear on the front pocket of the shirt.
- Do not include any current or retired LMU logo in the design.
- All design elements must be original. No use of trademarked or copyrighted material.
- Submissions must be original (vector) art saved as .PDF, .AI, or .EPS with all text outlined.
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student to participate.
- Design must adhere to LMU Community Standards.
- All entries, upon submission, become the exclusive property of LMU.
- Submissions are due Monday, Jan. 22 at 11:59 p.m.
Finalist Selection Criteria
A panel of student and university leaders will review the entries and select 2-3 top designs based on this criteria:
- Creative expression of the Ignite a Brighter World theme
- Positive representation of LMU values
- Visual appeal, style, and wearability
- Adherence to contest instructions
Winner and Prizes
2-3 finalist designs will be put to a community vote in January, and a winning design will be announced and sold at Family Weekend, Feb. 15-18, 2024.
- First prize – $500 LMU Bookstore gift card
- Second prize – $200 LMU Bookstore gift card
- Third prize – $100 LMU Bookstore gift card
- All students who submit a design will receive a 20% discount for one item at the LMU Bookstore after the final design is announced (textbooks excluded).
