Each year, LMU hosts an active threat drill across the Westchester, Playa Vista, and LMU Loyola Law School campuses. While the chances of being involved in an active threat situation are extremely low, it’s imperative to know how to respond.
On Feb. 9, all Westchester and Playa Vista Lions will receive an LMU Alert at 9:50 a.m. (and again at 4:30 p.m. for afternoon classes), announcing the start of the drill.
At this time, you should stop what you’re doing to run through the options of how you’d react in a real-life threatening situation: Where are your exits? How would you barricade a door? What improvised weapons do you have nearby to disarm the shooter?
