Celebrate the season and President Poon’s inauguration with one of LMU’s most beloved traditions, ASLMU’s Christmas Tree Lighting. Experience an evening filled with dazzling lights, laughter, and the warmth of community as we come together to mark inauguration season and the magic of the holidays. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and our Westchester neighbors are all invited to join the LMU community from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, on Regents Terrace to share in this unforgettable celebration of hope, unity, and holiday cheer.
Don’t miss your chance to grab the coveted tree-lighting mug for hot cocoa. The line for mug distribution for undergraduate students, staff, and faculty will begin at 4 p.m. in Sunken Garden. Quantities are limited and mugs usually go quickly. The event will include many past traditional activities like a heartwarming tree lighting countdown, a meet and greet with Santa Claus, free hot cocoa and holiday cookies, festive photo booths, and fun holiday activities for all ages. This year’s ASLMU is also featuring two new activities for the community to participate in:
- A three-lane snow sled area at the back of Alumni Mall in front of the flagpoles, generously sponsored by the Office of the President.
- A Christmas Tree Decorating Competition, where students and community members can vote for their favorite design throughout the evening.
Food trucks will be onsite with food and sweet dessert options available for purchase (OneCards or Flexi will not be accepted):
- Angelenos Pizza
- Babys Burger
- Beachy’s
- Oaxaca on Wheels
- 8E8 Thai
