The Hidden Heroes is an annual award from the CSJ Center for Reconciliation that recognizes individuals who work in the community to build bridges and exemplify justice in their everyday lives. The Hidden Heroes virtual award ceremony will take place Sunday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m.
The ceremony includes the recipients’ stories as dramatized narratives followed by formal awards presented at the conclusion of the virtual performance. The awardees’ courage, creativity, and generosity make a difference in the LMU community and beyond. This year, the Hidden Hero awardees are:
- Bryant Keith Alexander, dean of the LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts;
- Joanna Carroll, C.S.J., campus minister emerita, spiritual director, and chaplain emerita for the Marians Service Organization;
- Cristina Cuellar, executive director of Operation Progress;
- Erika Cuellar, co-founder of Alma Backyard Farms;
- Luis De La O, custodian with Facilities Management.
For the first time there will be a second ceremony in the spring honoring more Hidden Heroes who are sources of hope or agents of justice and reconciliation within our LMU family. Learn more and RSVP here.
