In partnership with HR, Financial Aid, Finance, and ITS, SES is announcing the Federal First reconfiguration of Workday.
Once this project is implemented, Federal Work-Study awards will follow student employees, and be paid for out of a central budget. This will allow supervisors to hire as many Federal Work-Study (FWS) students as necessary to support their respective units, maximizing LMU’s use of Federal Work-Study funds.
Managers will no longer be required to allocate funds when hiring work-study or non-work- study (NWS) students. Managers will still be responsible for accounting for their non-work-study students in their operational budgets/grants. LMU Work-Study (LWS) and NWS students are still available for supervisors to employ, but we advise supervisors to prioritize the use of FWS with future hires.
While the reconfiguration is being completed, we ask that every supervisor/hiring manager check each student’s external student profile to confirm whether or not the student has accepted a financial award.
