Starting Sept. 19, LMU colleagues will notice several updates in Workday, including a refreshed Employee Profile page and other enhancements designed to improve navigation, visual clarity, and the overall user experience.
What’s Changing?
Employee Profile Page
The Employee Profile page features a refreshed layout that provides better visual clarity and easier access to key information.
- Experience, job history, and education: These sections are more easily accessible from the updated profile layout.
- Actions button: The Actions button is now more prominently displayed near the center of the profile page rather than along the side.
- Job Details: Job details are easier to view directly from the profile.
Global Search
As a reminder, the Global Search bar is located at the top center of the Workday page. Use it to quickly search for tasks, reports, people, and other Workday resources.
Job Requisitions: Candidates
Managers who work with Job Requisitions may notice slight changes to the grids under Candidates. The updated grids provide an enhanced visual display of applicant information, making candidate details easier to view and navigate.
Report Processing Time Estimates
Workday has enhanced the Notify Me Later feature to provide a better idea of how long a report may take to complete.
When running a report that takes longer to process, Workday may now display an estimated remaining processing time. This allows you to decide whether to wait for the report to finish or select Notify Me Later and continue working on other tasks.
While a report is processing, you may see an estimated time remaining, along with updates as Workday calculates and refreshes the processing time.
This enhancement applies to most eligible reports that take more than 15 seconds to process and display the Notify Me Later option. Processing times are estimates and may vary. Because Workday is rolling out this feature gradually, the estimated processing time may not appear on every eligible report right away.
Learning & Development
As you explore the latest Workday updates, don’t forget that Workday also provides access to Learning & Development resources and training opportunities. Employees can use Workday Learning to explore available courses and continue building their skills and professional development.
To access Learning in Workday:
- Go to the menu bar on the left side of the page
- Select the My Workday icon
- Select Learning to browse available courses and learning opportunities
What You Need to Do
- No action is required. These updates will be applied automatically with the Workday release.
- Visit the LMU Workday Support app for step-by-step reference guides.
- If you experience any issues or have questions, create an HR or Finance help ticket.
- Additional Workday news and resources are available at lmu.edu/workday.
We hope these updates make it easier to navigate Workday and access the information you need.
Reminder: Help a Colleague in Need – Vacation Donation Program
From time to time, staff members may face unexpected personal challenges that require them to take time away from work. The Vacation Donation Program allows employees to donate a portion of their accrued vacation time to a shared pool that can be distributed to colleagues in need.
Your generosity can make a meaningful difference by helping a colleague focus on their recovery or personal matters during a difficult time.
Interested in donating? Submit a Donate Vacation Request.
